Lorraine Maddigan

I was born in Dirranbandi, Queensland and spent most of my childhood growing up on the Darling Downs with regular holidays around the Glasshouse Mountains and Byron Bay.   I now live on a property 45 kilometres from Gunnedah, NSW.

For as long as I can remember I have always dabbled in art from drawing to steel sculpture but I only really started seriously painting in the last five years.

I still haven’t found my ‘style’ but I do love colour...lots of it.  I also love the outback and our amazing wildlife so my influence comes from many areas.

I work with acrylics mostly and use good quality paints.  I generally paint on stretched canvas and occasionally on canvas paper.

Being mostly self-taught, although I completed a fine arts TAFE course some years ago, I really enjoy connecting with other artists, being inspired by them and having my art exhibited alongside theirs.
